I'm Back!

So sorry I have been gone for so long! I kind of forgot that I had my own blog along with the one that my sisters and I do!

Well, here is an update on my life:

I am currently working at Serenity Springs and babysitting for the summer. I am SUPER excited because I am going to start watching my cousin's little ones and they are completely adorable. Max is 4 and Myah was born on May 1st. It is going to be lots of fun!

Also, I LOVE the other little girls that I babysit and their Mom! Abby is 7 (almost 8) and Emma is 6. They are hilarious and their mom is totally cool!

Well, I could only blog for a minute due to my computer dying, but I'll be back soon with more battery power!

While the kids are away, the teacher will play...

Not really....

Especially not really to anyone reading this that could potentially give me a teaching job.

The kids are at gym, and I just wanted to stop in VERY quicky (potential employers...) to say that my sisters and I have started a new blog. It's pretty fun. We're all moving to Chicago together, so it should be interesting.

So I made it through my phone interview for a charter school in Chicago, and I've been passed through to the final round of interviewing! I'm pumped!!!

Don't know too much, just that I'm heading to Chicago sometime soon to observe and teach a sample lesson. Should be a great experience!!!!!

poor, poor, and more poor

I am officially broke. No money, can't do anything, and it sucks.

I really feel like I am stuck, too, because I'm student teaching so for another two weeks there is no way I can get any sort of job or anything like that. However, I am an AWESOME babysitter :) and would love the work so if you know anyone that needs a night out PLEASE let me know and let them know about me.

Seriously, I am getting THAT desperate!

BLAH!

Luckily in a couple of weeks I will get to start subbing and doing some other work to earn money. Until then, it's going to be tight!

Summer fun...

So I am getting very excited for this summer. Here is a list of all of the fun things I have recently found out are in my future:
1)Possible babysitting job... very flexible, fun summer job!
2)Graduation trip with my sisters to a mystery location... they won't tell me where... HOW FUN!
3)Possible trip to Florida with Roger and his family
4)VEGAS BABY! We're going in June, I believe. I CAN'T WAIT. Last time I went it was SO SO SO much fun. I cannot wait to go back, it's like it's own little world! Here are some of my favorite pics from last summer when we went. It was such a blast!

Ash and I standing in the tub in our room... weird, but I love this pic for some reason!

Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil... vegas isn't the place for that!

LOVE this picture because of Courtney's bunny ears! It was COMPLETELY on accident!

In front of the famous fountain with all the girls.

At the Palms. Love this picture... it turned out perfect (except for court's nasty cig... CUT THAT OUT GIRL!)

I can't wait to go and post NEW pictures :)!

Fun things are in the works...

I am definitely feeling back in the groove of student teaching. I'm very happy to be back at Crichfield, and I have missed my class a lot! It's funny how fast things can just pick right back up where they left off. I am enjoying getting to know a student that came to into our class while I was gone. He seems to be a really cool kid, and I'm looking forward to getting to know his personality as well as I sometimes think I know the other kids.

Funny little story. Today, one of the boys in my class (J) wanted to show off a new book that he got about the solar system. I decided that it was ok if he did a little 5-10 minute presentation of his book because he was SO excited. Well, he started talking about the sun, and how something happened with it 5 billion years ago. One of the kids asked a question about it, and they got on the topic of how long 5 billion years is. J's response to the question was "5 billion years is, like, a really long time ago. 5 billion years ago was, like, when your grandparents were born."

LOVE KIDS. They're awesome and hilarious. Not to mention the fact that this solar system book sparked all kinds of conversation about the world ending and all of the possiblities. It ended up being a very interesting presentation!

Also, in other exciting news (not letting myself get too excited), I've been moved on to the first interview stage for a Charter School in Chicago. I am REALLY excited about this! They sent me some information to look over, and I have to prepare a 15 minute presentation in response to a given scenario. They are really nice, and said they didn't want to have me make the trip to Chicago since I'm in Indiana. Instead, we are having a conference call. I'm very excited that I'm even STARTING to hear anything back! :)

That's about all I know for now. Roger is great, and kicking butt at his new job. I'm really proud of him and excited for him. He's going to do GREAT with that company! He's starting the roommate and apartment search process in Chicago, so if you know anyone looking for a roomie in downtown Chi town let me know!

That's all! Good Night!

Fight Night

Oh my goodness. I went to a professional boxing match in La Porte last night. My friend, Jessica, got me to go with her because she didn't want to go alone (definitely don't blame her) and she had acquired a $20 ticket at some point. Long story short, I was there.
It actually turned out to be a very interesting experience. I have never watched boxing on TV, let alone happening right in front of my face. And, two guys that I knew pretty well growing up were boxing. It was very interesting to see!
After getting over the fact that too many people have too much aggression, I started appreciating it as a sport. It was definitely still not easy watching people get knocked around and knocked out, but I tried to look at it like the boxers did- just a sport!
Luckily, the guys that I knew from high school won their matches, so I didn't have to watch either of them get knocked out. Still, it wasn't especially fun watching friends get punched in the face!
Anyways, it was definitely an experience, and I am kind of glad I went just to see what it was. Also, Justin, one of the guys that was boxing that I knew, had worked really hard to get people to know about it and come. It was good that so many people came out to support him.

On a different note, it is SNOWING like crazy here! I am SOOOOO tired of winter! I am ready for spring weather. It seems like the warm days have been just a tease. Hopefully with April we'll start getting much warmer weather and much LESS snow. April is almost here!

I'll try to start taking pictures of my life and posting them, but right now I must go clean and unpack and get my life together. You would think I haven't had an entire week free. I guess I really took relaxing to the max. Too much to do!
Can't wait for school tomorrow! I'm so excited to see everyone and get back in the groove!
